This type of tall elegant highball glass with a stem and foot was developed during the 1920's and 30's to serve classic "sling" cocktails (such as the "Singapore Sling"). The "sling" is a family of cocktails, similar to punch, whose name derives from the German "schlingen" meaning (colloquially) "to wolf down". The hight and volume of these types of tall glass made them the ideal vessel for serving "long" drinks, with ice.
Very good condition.
