An attractively presented 'homage' to Château Mouton Rothschild, including a facsimile of a label for the 1949 vintage. This particular year of this fabled wine has attained near legendary status and is widely viewed as being one of the best vintages of the 20th Century.
The image on the label was designed by Parisian painter André Dignimont (1891-1965) who chose a relatively conventional depiction of bottles and glasses within a grapevine border and a banner with the 1949 vintage year written upon it. The bottle number here "07,916" appears in various other printed depictions and is not unique.
