At the hat band 8.5" long (21.5 cm) by 6.5" wide (16.5 cm) (equating to a hat size of size 7.5)
Generally in good vintage condition, very much “Royal Ascot ready.” The white silk lining shows light fraying consistent with age. There is a neatly inscribed previous owner’s name within. Minor wear to the pile at the upper edges of the sides, but entirely in keeping with a well-kept antique hat of the period. The box with light denting and discolouration, retaining two charming Belle Époque luggage labels from Italian 'Grand Tour' hotels.
Overall, a remarkably smart and characterful statement-piece top hat with an unmistakeable "old-money" allure. An example which, without apology, shame or embarrassment, would look completely at ease emerging from the boot of an Aston Martin Vanquish in Car Park One.
