A beautifully painted and very well presented, late Victorian representation of the armorial bearings of the Meakin family. Clearly the work of a professional heraldic painter, the mantling is especially well painted with exceptionally fine gilded highlights and details. A well written calligraphic description of the arms and bearings at the bottom, beneath the scroll with the family motto "Certum Pete Finem".
