An attractive and practical Aesthetic Movement chair of neat proportions. Well presented with the seat currently covered with William Morris's "Eyebright" fabric (Registered 1883), very much in keeping with the period of the chair. The design of the chair is very similar to examples attributed to Edward William Godwin (1833-1886) manufactured by James Peddle of High Wycombe and retailed by Chamberlain King & Jones of Birmingham and Druze & Co of Baker Street, London.
A good example of a chair from this period which would sit beautifully in an Aesthetic Movement or Arts and Crafts style interior.
