"Isis Ceramics" (Deborah Sears), Dish
Tin glazed earthenware with hand-painted decoration
Oxford, England
Circa 1980's

Measures:-
25.5 cm Diameter  x 4 cm high

A distinctive "Isis Ceramics" (Deborah Sears) tin glazed earthenware dish or shallow bowl. Marked to the base with the 'ISIS' mark in a rectangle but with an unidentified monogram. The piece here, decorated with a fisherman sitting on a riverbank in a rustic landscape, is in an unusual pattern with four floral details to the rim and is, possibly, an early one-off piece.

Isis Ceramics was founded by Deborah Sears in 1988. Her designs emulate early English 'Chinoiserie' inspired Delftware.

Good condition. Some overall gentle craquelure to the front. Slight unevenness to the white glaze to the bottom. Unglazed footrim.
