A Large Pair Cut-Glass Urn-Shaped, Sweetmeat Jars or Bon Bon Dishes & Covers
Hand-Cut Lead Crystal Glass
Probably English or Irish (possibly Cork)
H: 35 cm; D: 12.8 cm
A very imposing pair of lead crystal glass, Neo-Classical urn-shaped sweetmeat jars with their original covers. The urns on square plinths with swooped corners, star cut beneath the foot, facet cut knopped stems. The sides facet cut beneath a band of diamonds, facet cut band to the rims. The original covers similarly facet cut with row of facetted beads to the edges and jewel-shaped knop finials.
Excellent. Minor chip to the inner rim of one urn. Tiny 'bubble emerge' at the join of one stem to the body.
