A beautifully made and very interesting object. This double-ended whisk brush has one end formed of stiff natural broom, the other of soft horsehair. Each brush is held within a turned ebony band, fitted with an ornamental ring of decorative ormolu. The central tube compartment pulls open to form a container. The Morocco leather originally green, now faded to brown.

This brush was possibly designed for a librarian or bibliophile to dust their books. The central container possibly for use as a pen holder.

Condition:-
Commensurate with age and usage. As above the Morocco leather originally green, now faded to brown. The internal cylindrical section scuffed over time where slid apart.
