A good pair of Victorian terracotta Neo-Classical inspired candlesticks by F.& R. Pratt & Co Ltd of Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. Each marked with an impressed 'K' to the base and a painted decorator's mark. Glazed with a transfer-printed Graecian pattern in yellow, blue, red and black polychrome with gilded bands at the neck and foot. The pattern probably inspired by one collected and collated by the architect and designer Owen Jones.
