An amusing hunting scene from the 1920's by "Snaffles" which depicts a gentleman in a tweed jacket and bowler hat pausing, whip in hand, to smoke a pipe whilst out riding in the field. Hand-signed in pencil by the artist and with a printed vignette of a groom brushing a horse. Printed annotation "I have my man cleaning my 'osses, not my breeches" (indicating a horseman who cares more about the welfare of his animals than his own appearance). 'Ratcatcher' was the name given to informal attire worn whilst out fox hunting, generally consisting of a tweed jacket and tan coloured breeches.
