A very attractively presented large-format platinotype of G.F. Watt's symbolist masterpiece "Hope". Contained within its original late 19th Century "Watts" frame in Italian cassetta style with gilded oak frieze and gilt gesso stylized leaf mouldings. (Bears a label for "John B Smith, 117 Hampstead Road, London, NW" (the 1890's label for the business of John Bryce Smith (1850-1931)).
