Portrait of the celebrated architect Christopher Wren within an oval, bust length, wearing long wig, neckcloth with fringed ends and coat with silver buttons.

Sir Godfrey Kneller's 1711 likeness of Sir Christopher Wren published here in 1713 by John Smith (1652-1743), one of the premier mezzotint engravers. In 1688 Smith had become the regular engraver of Kneller's portraits. An authoritative image of Wren, issued during the sitter's lifetime.
