A very stylish painting from the early 1970’s by an artist who was clearly aware of the latest artistic developments in geometric abstraction and minimalism. The work is particularly indebted to the Hard Edge abstract paintings of Frank Stella (1936-2024) and also works by Max Bill (1908-1994).

Currently attributed to Trevor Lofthouse (1938-2000) one of the inspirational tutors at Bolton College of Art.
