An attractive print depicting "L'Envie" ("Envy"): a pretty and fashionably turned-out girl, with stylishly coiffured hair, shows jewels and luxurious shawl to a dowdily dressed companion who wears a foulard (headscarf).
Plate 46 from Boilly's influential "Recueil des profils et grimaces" ("Collection of profiles and grimaces"), a series of 95 satirical lithographs, printed and published at the studio of François-Séraphin Delpech (1778-1825), Paris.
An immaculately presented image. Beautifully framed and glazed with a double French mount and a hand-marbled outer mat with a gilded apperture.
