A fine very early Victorian image of Brighton (from the second year of the reign of "Victoria the First" (as described here)). Lettered with the title beneath the image and with the publication line Drawn Engraved & Published by Ino Bruce, Brighton, Novr 1839"."

John Bruce (fl.1815-1839) was a Brighton based printmaker and publisher who produced various images of Brighton, views, landmarks and personalities.

Nicely presented in an antique Hogarth style frame. The print with original hand-colouring, attractively toned with time. Some closed tears to the edges.

Copies of this print can be found in Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton [FA202726] and British Museum, London [1939,0603.1] but few other instructional copies have been identified.
