A souvenir paper knife/letter opener from New York's legendary  "21 Club" (the former prohibition-era speakeasy located at 21 West 52nd Street which originally opened as Jack & Charlie’s ‘21’"). The top of the knife is modelled on the famous signature jockey statues which lined the club's street entrance stairway and balcony. The bezel cast with "21" in numerals.

The exclusive "21" (as it was familiarly known by patrons) played host to a plethora of stars and celebrities and was visited by all-bar-one of the post-war U.S. Presidents. Guests included Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor. It was said of it, in its heyday of 1940's-1980's, that "Every Day Was New Year's Eve". It finally closed its doors in 2020 after 90 years of continuous entering.
